Last year's West Coast Session superfilmer Evan Heath has been busy. Here's two edits he recently dropped featuring our good friends Jeff Kiesel and Karl Fostvedt.
Timberline chose the West Coast Session as its entry in the “event” category of Ski Area Management magazine’s terrain park contest! Check out the contest page here.
There are also some purty features to see in the “Features” section of the competition, including Timberline’s innovative X-pipe.
Last month at the Kaunertal Glacier Opening in Austria I unexpectedly ran into one of our favorite West Coast Session skiers, Pako Benguerel from Spain. It was Pako's first time back on skis since taking a hard crash on the WCS jump last May.
Over the past five years of West Coast Sessions we've been honored to host not only some of the best young skiers in the game, but also some of the best on-the-cusp-of-greatness ski filmers. This edit by 4bi9′s Paul Braunstein from West Coast Session 5 ain't even on-the-cusp; it's over, above and beyond the cusp. And what the hell's a cusp, anyway?
Congratulations to West Coast Session skier Nick Goepper, who just snagged the North American video qualifier for the King of Style competition held annually in Sweden! Nick will be one of four online-qualified skiers to make the journey later this month to the big-air bonanza that’s put on in Stockholm’s Olympic stadium.
This is Evan Heath’s ShowReel ’11. Evan came to West Coast Session 5 as our official daily edit producer. This is a thankless (and pro bono) job requiring videographers to film all day and cut all night, while putting out four short edits over four days of action at WCS. Stepping into the shoes of former daily editors Duncan Lake and Hennie VJ, Evan did a fine job of catching some of the best jumpin’ and jibbin’ that went down. Check the reel for Joss Christensen’s switch 630 on, 270 off and some action on the big jump. You’ll be able to identify the shots from WCS by the stink factor.
2011 West Coast Session sponsor Buff just released an edit from their stacked team of Spanish skiers and snowboarders.
